The official launch of Martin B Wines took place at the M&S Eden Event Center in Haatso on February 14, 2025, bringing together industry players, influencers, and wine enthusiasts to celebrate the brand’s entry into the Ghanaian market.

In her welcome address, Ms. Mavis N. Boakye, CEO of MB-FY Ventures, the makers and importers of Martin B Wines, expressed gratitude to attendees and shared the brand’s vision: “Martin B Wines was born out of a love for winemaking, a commitment to quality, and the desire to create an experience in every bottle. Our wines bring people together to celebrate life’s finest moments.” She emphasized that the launch on Valentine’s Day symbolizes love, togetherness, and celebration, making Martin B Wines ideal for social occasions.

Martin B Wines, produced in South Africa, offers varieties such as Red Blend, Sweet Sparkling White, Reserve Pinotage, and Cabernet Sauvignon. “Our wines are made from different grape varieties, with a low alcohol percentage, making them suitable for everyone,” Ms. Boakye added. She also shared the company’s future ambition: “Ghana has vast arable lands, and we aim to leverage this to start producing wines locally, creating employment and boosting economic growth.”

The event was chaired by Mr. Alexander Nketiah, Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority, who encouraged local wine production, highlighting Ghana’s potential to grow grapes in regions like Aburi, Amedzofe, and Abetifi. “If we invest in grape farming and wine production, we can generate jobs and support both agriculture and tourism,” he stated.

Other notable attendees included Jennifer Gasu, Programs Director of AFAWI; three-time Man Ghana champion Godwin Frimpong; and TikTok sensation Afia Sikapa. Guests enjoyed wine tastings, networking, and lively entertainment, with Martin B Wines receiving praise for its rich flavors and smooth finish.

The launch marked a milestone for MB-FY Ventures, with Ms. Boakye reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet the tastes of Ghanaian consumers. The event concluded with a toast to the future of Martin B Wines, leaving attendees with a lasting impression of elegance, quality, and the promise of local wine production on the horizon.
